Description

Looking for a camera operator to assist with several exterior sequences in Manhattan, primarily around Madison Avenue and the Upper East Side. The shoot will involve filming the director and his grandmother walking through New York, along with additional observational and investigative footage. The intended visual style is restrained, precise, and cinematic, with an emphasis on long-lens photography, deliberate framing, and natural movement within the composition. The project draws visual inspiration from contemporary independent cinema and the documentary work of Lance Oppenheim. This is strictly a camera-operator position, not a cinematographer or director of photography role. The director will oversee the creative approach, compositions, and shot list. Equipment A Sony FX6 camera package and lenses will be provided. No personal camera equipment is required. Experience operating Sony cinema cameras and working with telephoto lenses is preferred. Ideal Candidate Experience shooting documentary or independent film projects. Strong understanding of composition, focus, and camera movement. Comfortable working with long focal lengths and filming subjects in motion. Ability to work efficiently with a very small crew. Collaborative, patient, and attentive to visual detail. Compensation This is a limited-budget independent production. This is non paid but we will offer an onscreen credit.
